Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are excited learners. They are a group of leaders, readers, mathematicians, scientists, artists, authors, and friends! They have pride in themselves, their school and their community. They are learning through failure and struggle, learning to persevere through problem solving challenges. They are diverse individuals with opinions and experiences to share with the world.
These students crave creative ways to display their learning.
Third graders love the liberty of creating original masterpieces in art, music, writing using a variety of technological and traditional tools.
My Project
As a new teacher, my colleagues have been more than generous in sharing their art supplies, but my students are in need of paint, brushes, oil pastels and similar art supplies in their own classroom and readily available.
They need the flexibility to show me what they have learned and their mastery of the standards through a creative outlet.
With these tools, students will be able to connect what they have learned in literature, science, and social studies to visual arts and writing. They will be able to create paintings, drawings, books and many other unique and original works to be proud of.
