Help me give my students art supplies to design and create portfolios, poetry books, and art projects.
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
A project is not a project especially when you do not have the necessary supplies. I remember my first poetry book, I loved not only writing the poems, but designing my book. My students love to design, draw and create. They need supplies for projects, upcoming papers and more. The supplies promote determination, creativity and encourage the students to do better. Supplies like color pencils, colored paper, pens, erasers, markers, and tape are for those students who like to express who they are.
My students are intelligent, determined, positive progressive, creative thinkers.
Our school is a small middle school with a population of students who grapple to stay grounded and focus. There is just so much going on around them that when they walk into the classroom, they aren't as focused. The supplies will help many students be prepared for class projects, and be encouraged to express their creativity.
In the past, my students were taught to achieve skills and strategies for certain subjects. Times are changing and the goal is to make the students' college and career ready. My goal is to focus on more project-based learning in various areas of English. Designing a magazine with different layouts, or create your poetry book.
The goal is to allow my students' creative imaginations to soar beyond their day to day mentality.
This will allow the students' to grow with an open mind, to grow intellectually and to nurture their true self and abilities. The students will be able to utilize the art supplies and they will be so happy because they love to create.
