My Students
Our school is in an urban area in Virginia. We take pride in being the most diverse elementary school in our district and represent about 30 different languages that are spoken by our students.
Our students and teachers love books and make reading a special part of each day.
Along with motivating our students to read books they enjoy, our teachers are always working to increase our students' academic achievement and social-emotional skills. We are proud of our school community!
My Project
We want our female students to grow into confident, young women who can lead others! We want them to feel secure with themselves and their education and know that they are capable of pursuing their passions. As our 4th and 5th graders get older, they can be challenged with social struggles as they approach middle and high school.
This book will help give them strategies about how they can strive to be their best selves and support each other, rather than bringing each other down.
Women need to support each other both socially and professionally and our young girls need to see that now!
