This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
All of the children in my room enjoy learning. The students in my classroom are from a rural low economic area. Funding is limited and resources are few. Most of the students come from single-parent homes.
We use different strategies to make learning fun.
We incorporate learning centers, group work, and alternative seating. They enjoy hands-on activities along with many challenges. They truly are a great group of kids.
With these bean bags, students will have a better learning environment.
My Project
Bean bags allows students to take charge of their learning and make the choices that work best for them. During independent work times they get to choose a location in the classroom that works for them whether it is on the floor or at a table alone.
I have noticed amazing differences in my students when they are given a choice in their seating.
They almost always make good choices about where they sit, are more engaged, and get more work completed than when they are just sitting at their desk.
The bean bags that I have selected will help my students by giving them additional seating options to make more effective learning choices.
Additionally, the copy paper, pens, pencils and expo markers will help to ensure that my students are prepared and ready to learn each day. Sometimes they are not able to purchase the materials needed for school. Therefore, I would like to ensure that they are readily available for their usage.
