Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
In our community the students go through many daily struggles, some help their families pay for bills, some take care of their younger siblings, some may not know where their next meal may come from, and much more. Many of our students are homeless and or live in hotels. Some, even live without electricity daily. Even with these daily struggles they still attend school and try their best each day on campus.
At our Title I school in central Florida, all of our students receive free breakfast and lunch.
Our students that participate after school in tutoring, clubs, or sports also receive dinner for free. We as a school try and support our community as much as we can. We know through the struggles, the students will still succeed.
Despite their hardships, the students still continue to work hard. They still attend school with these hardships to better their futures so they too can be successful.
My Project
The products I am asking for will go into our comfort closet. This is a safe place at our school that houses the many needs of our students. The closet consists of clothing and the products I am currently asking for donations, as the toothbrushes, toothpaste, general hygiene products and much more. These products will allow us to start up our Comfort Closet and continue to house all the needs of our students to use as they are needed. This safe space with the donated products will help our students in need feel better about themselves and more successful in their everyday life! I want to thank you in advance for any and all of your kindness to our project!
