My students need a color printer that they don't have to pay a quarter-per-page (library) to print out their projects, research papers, or picture essays.
My students are AMAZING! They come to school every day and try their very best! They help guide each other, look out for one another, and are compassionate towards their peers. I am so fortunate to have students who care about their future and are willing to stay late, arrive early, and apply themselves in every class.
Despite the odds stacked against them, my students try harder than most give them credit for.
They don't expect freebies; they know they will work hard for everything they receive in life. It's this resilience that will ensure all their hard work will pay off and provide for a safe and successful future.
With this request (and help from DonorsChoose.org, their affiliates, and the on-line community of followers), I hope to provide a more rigorous learning environment that will encourage my students to set appropriate and challenging academic goals as well as allow for creative outlets through research projects.
My Project
Every year, my students embark on their individual academic journey. And every year, my students' needs for proper color printing increases. For the past eight years, I have been allowing students to print from a color printer I purchased personally. They'd provide the paper, and sometimes, even help to purchase ink. Unfortunately, this aged appliance no longer is able to function properly and can no longer be connected to the student desktop computer as it was upgraded to and is not supported. My students have vibrant discourses, lively responses, and even more colorful shades and hues of personalities; they deserve to express themselves in color, and with your help, they can.
