Help me give my students printers, refrigerators, and other dorm room supplies that will ensure their success in college to do all the things that will make them successful beyond high school and in this 21st century.

Our Decision Day is a chance to celebrate my hard-working students who have committed to higher education. Whether they have decided to go to a community college, a university, the military or any other education past high school, Decision Day shows support for their hard work and encouragement to our future leaders of America. The event is a way for educators, counselors, and parents to encourage those heading to college, and while also being a way for students to inspire and encourage others such as our Junior class and other future graduating classes. Most of my students are first-generation with a low-income background who are fighting the odds by graduating high school and moving on to college. This is a time where we can celebrate this accomplishment.
We are modeling our Senior day after former FLOTUS Michelle Obama's annual decision day. We use this day to celebrate graduating seniors who have made the commitment to complete their education after high school, whether at a community college, a 4-year university, or the military or any other post-high school education. We are a title 1 school with a lot of first-generation and predominantly minority students. This is a time to celebrate their accomplishments in spite of their economic hardships and rough home life.
This day will be a day to give away needed college items that financial aid does not cover to our deserving Seniors.
The College & Career Team here at our school has been working diligently to prepare students financially for college tuition, books, fees, and housing. Small items tend to be overlooked (even though they add up to a large sum). The printers, TV, and two small refrigerators we are requesting to purchase will be given away to students who are in most need during the pep rally. They will be used during their time in college for assignments, working etc. These gifts will be one less expense they will have to worry about with the rising costs of tuition and fees.
