My students are all Gifted and Talented. We are a self contained classroom. My students are grade accelerated in math. We focus on Project Based Learning. These students are fantastic at thinking beyond the constraints I set for them. These student are from a city outside of Cleveland, they love to learn, and will be excited to see how far they can take this robot. My students often have felt alone. Once they are part of the gifted program they feel at home and excited to learn.

I also run a 5th grade coding club. Students in the coding club work each week to exploring coding and robotics. The coding club is a great way for students to be introduced to STEM careers.

My Project
The Botley Coding Robots from Kaplan will add an extension to our coding club and science classrooms. These robots will allow students to explore the world of coding and STEM careers. The materials I am requesting will allow students to input codes, create pathways and program robots. The products will engage students in technology.
The students will use these kits, as teams, to both code and create.
The kits allow students to develop unique ideas. Students will be able to code robots in a safe environment. My hope, is through the interaction with the Botley Robots, students will be excited about technology and coding.
