My Students

Our school recognizes that each child is an individual; that all children are creative; that all children need to succeed. Therefore, we respect the individual needs of children and foster a caring and creative environment that emphasizes the social, emotional, physical, intellectual development of each child.

Community is created through shared experiences.

It is my hope to provide my students with experiences that cannot be obtained through reading and writing alone. We are not only educating a child but fostering a community.

My Project

Since 1994, Claymobile, the award-winning community engagement program, has collaborated with schools, neighborhood organizations, and other social service agencies throughout the Philadelphia region to create innovative, hands-on approaches to learning in a safe and supportive environment. The teaching artist and assistant lead students through comprehensive lessons catered to age, ability, and classroom goals that teach students the basics of building and creating with clay.

The Clay Studio is rooted in the belief that all people deserve access to high-quality arts education and assumes a strong responsibility to engage all segments of its local community.

Today, the Claymobile is recognized as one of the most cost-effective arts education opportunities in the region and serves as a model for similar programs offered around the country.
