The Calming Corner Initiative

Help me give my students a space in each of their classrooms that will allow them to go clear and calm their minds when they feel overwhelmed. This includes sand art, pin art, hand sanitizer, and more.

My Project

My students are absolutely great young boys and girls that come to school each and every day to learn. Sometimes when they are learning they can become overwhelmed. Having a space dedicated in their classroom that will support the implementation of calming techniques and strategies will definitely support their success.

The calming corner will be dedicated to students implementing breathing strategies and mindful focusing techniques.

Each classroom will have different fine motor manipulatives which will be used as an additional supportive tool when students need to take a moment to themselves. The different tools will be sensory based manipulatives like monkey noodles, cubes, and textured balls, amongst various other items.
