I am the teacher of 21 tiny humans who the majority come from financially broken homes.
Over half of my students were affected by Hurricane Harvey in August 2017.
When we were able to return to school the majority of our school and educational supplies were damaged. We have been indefinitely relocated to another campus and currently waiting to relocate once again to temporary portables for the remainder of the school year and possibly next school year. Although this tragedy has affected our students, we are still very optimistic about the remainder of the school year. My students, despite it all, have a desire to learn and as their teacher, I have made it my mission to make this school year an academic success despite the limited resources we have at the moment. With your help, I truly believe that my students and I can finish out the school year strong. Thank you for considering my class for a possible donation!
My Project
The iPads will provide students the opportunity to work collaboratively together. The students will be able to practice reading and math skills. It will allow the opportunity to differentiate material for all of my students. Students with learning disabilities will have access to the iPads as well. Students who are still learning English will benefit from them. If this project is funded it will help kids now and in their futures as they move to even more challenging and complex work. Due to us being displaced and not having access to all our resources the iPads will allow us to be more effective in confined spaces.
