Help me give my students reach their full potential by helping me with the needed supplies to teach them literacy skills and get them on track to read, which is such an important skill!
I have a preschool classroom that has 4 sessions and 32 children total. My classroom consists children who are on IEP's and children who are typical developing who act as peer models. The children in my class are ages 3 to 5. I opened up a new classroom this year. It is such a great school and we have been welcomed and feel so much a part of the school. There are a lot of challenges when opening up a new preschool classroom within an elementary school. There are some supplies that I still need in order to help meet the needs of ALL my students. As a special education teacher, I absolutely love coming up with things to help engage all my students. This year I am trying to focus a lot on literacy and helping my students get on the right track to learning how to read so that they are prepared for Kindergarten. I love seeing the different strengths from each of my students and figure out ways to use their strengths to help them learn!
My Project
The COVID-19 pandemic has definitely been hard for everyone especially children. They have had many changes happen to them throughout these last couple of years. Some of these young children who are in my preschool classroom do not know any different.
This project will help not only the children with their literacy skills but the parents as well.
The parents have had to do a lot during this time and make many changes and this has been hard on them to help their children learn what they need to learn while they are at home. One of the areas that I have seen that the children in my preschool classroom need more help with is literacy.
I have talked to many Kindergarten teachers and we have also discussed the importance of literacy and getting children on track to learning.
Overall this project would just accelerate the growth of the students and help them be successful in their learning throughout school and life.
