My students need a safe and sturdy way to organize the block play area, and also having some specialty blocks such as windows, and cars will enhance the experience.
Our special needs preschool class is trying to get a new set of building blocks for all of our budding architects and engineers. The simple hardwood blocks are great, and the only thing that could be better is some awesome accessories to go with them.
We are a special needs preschool located in a very large school in a high poverty area.
Our kids face so many challenges in their young lives, yet they are excited by learning and see only possibilities. It is wonderful to see the looks on their faces as they grasp new concepts and discover new things that interest them. The block center is always a favorite and having the pieces to go along to make a city and houses would be a big plus.
We have had a mismatched set of blocks that has been accumulated over time, and though we are grateful for what we do have, the fact that they don't fit well together and topple over because they don't go together can be frustrating for the children. The kids are very excited to hear we are trying to get them a brand new set of blocks ! If we could get the houses, windows, and specialty blocks that go along with it that would be the icing on the cake.
Playing with blocks is a classic activity.
The strong sturdy shapes unlock their imaginations as they build roads, towers and castles. It invites social interaction and cooperation to build a city together. Having the accessories to go along with our blocks would really take the fun to another level.
