In our sixth grade science classroom, we like to get our hands dirty. We like to get out of our seats and do some applied science. We learn best by trying what we are learning.
The students in our classroom are ready to get their hands dirty and try stuff on their own.
The students are ready to take control of their education. They want the teachers to relinquish control and stop lecturing and rather let the students, themselves, discover information.
My Project
We're about half way through the year and our supplies are running out. We need some basic things to get us to the end. Things things like glue, index cards, paint, and colored pencils are getting used up. More hardy supplies, like rulers and compasses, are starting to show signs of wear with all the use they have been getting.
We want to be able to end the year as good as we started it.
Having supplies on hand to work creatively on a variety of projects makes learning meaningful and fun. The more access we have to basic supplies them better we can make our products in class.
