My Students

The seventh graders I teach are an exceptional bunch of students. My students come to school each day with glittering eyes ready to learn. With such amazing students, going to work doesn't feel like work at all, yes I believe this even as a middle school teacher! When I teach, seeing the light bulb click on when students learn is worth more than my entire teaching salary!

My students are voracious learners and readers; they enter my classroom with smiles to match their work ethics!

I want to work harder for them to ensure that each and every students reaches his or her potential. Our middle school students deserve to have amazing teachers and materials. Unfortunately, our school lacks the funds to supply English teachers with their own class sets of novels. If I had these materials in my classroom, I could improve my students' learning tremendously.

My Project

World War II was an interesting and epic time in history. Please help my students learn more about this time period through a tale told by death himself. The Book Thief, written by Markus Zusak, is an international bestseller as well as a novel that will change lives as well as hearts.

As an English teacher and avid reader myself, it is always my goal for students to leave my class with a love of reading and literature.

I do my best to encourage students to love books through my own example, and by discussing the stories we read frequently. This novel will provide opportunities for students to discuss history as well as literature in a classroom setting.

This story touches students' hearts through the story of Liesel and Max. Please help me encourage my students to be better readers and humans by helping us purchase this novel!
