My students need exposure to quality chapter books and science books to get excited about reading! I am asking for Jerry Pallotta books and Magic Treehouse books, because these books motivate students to become independent learners!
My students are enthusiastic learners who are eager to take on whatever challenges they face. These students come from different backgrounds and appreciate their differences in culture. They are amazing individuals who are excited about school. They are friends, peers, and superheroes.
Every day they come to school with smiles on their faces.
They love learning and technology. Whether it is reading a chapter book for the first time or solving a multi-step word problem, these kids are eager to soak up knowledge like sponges!
My Project
Students in today's society are bombarded with testing and assessments on a regular basis. While testing is a good indicator of a student's abilities, I want to focus more time on getting students motivated about reading. I want students to be excited about reading, and to learn to become independent readers. Learning how to read is a key indicator of success later on in a child's education, and I want students to be eager to come to school and to read books and listen to read alouds.
I am asking for donations of chapter books by Mary Pope Osborne and picture books by Jerry Pallotta.
I chose these books because Mary Pope Osborne's Magic Treehouse series is extremely popular with young students. These books help students to read independently, but also teach them about important historical events and science topics. Jerry Palotta is well known for his A to Z books, and the kids love looking at the pictures and learning important facts about various topics. My aim is to get students even more excited about reading through exposure to these books!
