"As children know, there's lots of fun in nonsense. We never stop benefiting from staying flexible, open and responsive, even in the midst of confusion." Joanna Scott describes my class perfectly with this quote. They are energetic, open-minded and willing to try new things all while coming from a variety of diverse backgrounds and ability levels, including EC and ESL students. We recently became a Personalized Learning school. Students can be seen working on different levels of the curriculum, with a variety of learning environments and often choose to sit in non-traditional ways. I love seeing what new and inventive ideas they come up with when given the opportunity!
My Project
Human Body, Cells and Genetics are major units in our 5th grade science curriculum. They are full of difficult vocabulary and concepts that are often challenging for my students. My students love having access to content rich books that help them to understand what they are learning in the classroom. All of these books have wonderful photographs and illustrations that are sure to keep the attention of my students.
By donating to our project, you will give students of all ability levels the chance to access this curriculum with resources that match their needs and interests.
The best way to increase their understanding is to read and access more information, and these books will continue to help my students grow stronger in science. My students already have shown an interest in science, and this project will only help enrich their experiences.
