The students I teach are taking an honors level introduction to engineering class. These students are all very interested in becoming engineers. The students are learning the basics of engineering design. They are also using computer programs to make 3D designs. These students have most of the supplies they need to complete this class. Many of the students struggle with the design process and have to watch tutorial videos, but eventually produce great work. My students want to learn this content but could use a little help.
My Project
My engineering students will benefit from having their own classroom headphones to listen to the tutorials for the computer-aided design (CAD) program. The students are designing projects in this program and I would love for them to be able to build their designs with a 3D printer. This would bring together their design and the real world.
My students will be able to take their finished 3D product home and show off all of their hard work.
The students will be able to demonstrate their understanding of the design process by seeing their end product in full out production form.
