My fourth and fifth-grade students are amazing. My students come to school every day ready to learn and willing to work hard. My class is made up of many different needs, including students with special needs, limited language acquisition, and high achieving needs. My students work hard every day to succeed. We use many different strategies to achieve success and many of these strategies are thanks to DonorsChoose.org. We have received furniture, chapter books, and technology from amazing donors.
We work hard all year long.
Having available resources helps my students become successful.
My Project
I always tell my students I have two jobs: the first is to teach them and the second is to prepare them for middle school. A huge part of the second job is teaching my students responsibility.
Having a daily planner is essential in teaching responsibility to almost middle schoolers.
I will teach my students how to write down important daily events, homework, and any vital information. These will keep my students organized and responsible for their work.
Having these Lakeshore Cursive Nameplates is extremely helpful. They help me learn my students' names. They help my students have visual aides for place value, fractions, and multiplication. I allow my students to use these nameplates on tests.
Having a giant magnetic graph poster will be so helpful. A part of my standards is teaching coordinate planes and volume. Both of these topics will be so much easier for my students to visually see if we have a giant poster to use.
