Celebrate Black Teachers and Students

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My school is located in an urban area of Ohio. My students have taken advantage of school choice and are determined to earn their high school diplomas.

Most of our kids fight some sort of battle every day.

Our students struggle with poverty, homelessness, employment, transportation, and language barriers. In spite of all of this, they show up to school. Some days are better than others, but the kids are earning credits and passing tests and working their way towards graduation.

My Project

Every student learns in a different way and at a different pace. I am blessed to work in an environment that encourages teachers to meet students where they are and to challenge students to grow. My coworkers and I differentiate materials for almost every student, so that our kids can grow through education.

Distance learning has created incredible challenges for both staff and students.

Creating digital materials that suit the individual needs of students has become a challenge. The resources that we can access on Teachers Pay Teachers allow us to differentiate for individuals. This project will allow ALL the educators at our school to purchase the materials we need to continue doing what we do best.
