My Students

I am a first grade teacher in a thriving smaller district in MO. My students love working and learning with hands-on projects. They come to school every day with a smile on their face and ready to face their challenges.

Each child in my class loves to learn.

I use a variety of teaching strategies in my room so that each child has a chance to learn. I also use a variety of technology in my classroom. I work in large and small groups to make sure every student's need is met. I have an incredible group of kids that love learning.

My Project

In my first grade classroom we use tablets during independent reading. At this time I am reading with a small group of students. I have two to four students either on computers or tablets reading. We use RAZ Kids in our room. Each student has their own login and password. Each student is reading books on their level. They will use these Amazon Fire tablets as an interactive and engaging way to practice concepts being taught through our core curriculum and small groups. We have interactive games that also help with letter recognition, numbers, simple addition and subtraction.

With technology in the world, first graders come in knowing how to use a tablet.

When students are able to work independently on a tablet, I am able to work in a small group with other students.
