The Basic Needs, Basically

Help me give my students an equitable education and a sense of peace by providing them with the necessary supplies such as dry erase boards and markers. The lined chart paper will be used to create anchor charts during daily lessons.

My Students

Our students live in an urban area that is very diverse. The majority of the students are from an extremely low socioeconomic background. The students range from high performing to extremely far behind their grade level. We are now part of a program that invites refugees to our school and are part of our diverse family of students.

I want my class to have all of the experiences that every child deserves.

Some of our students are attending in America for the first time, or school at all. A large number of students come to school without supplies, full stomachs, or a stable home environment.

With this being said, the students are eager to learn and eager to make their lives meaningful. They see, with encouragement, that they can be what they choose. With hard work and a good attitude, these kids can be successful, if given the opportunity.

My Project

Our students are excited about learning and excited about being in school. They often do not have the materials they need to complete daily activities for the class. With that being said, we often take donations or supply the class with things we purchase or collect ourselves.

We are requesting basic supplies for our classroom to complete daily activities.

The dry erase boards and markers will be used to assess student learning during instruction. The anchor charts will be used for group activities along with creating visuals to support student learning. Scissors, pencils, erasers and the pencil pouches will be used available for students to have at their desks so they will be prepared at all times for engaging in learning. We are requesting individual supplies that the students can have to cut down on wasted time sharing everything. With your donation, every student can feel successful because they have what they need to learn.
