My students are diverse. They come from a range of home environments and socioeconomic levels. They are all smart, caring and special. These are dedicated students who have chosen a STEM career path.
These scholars are the leaders of tomorrow and will change the world.
I do not worry about the future because these students are amazing. I have one designing a prosthetic hand and another whose phone charger broke so he took apart and redesigned a crank flashlight to charge his phone (it worked).
My Project
This project involves my scholars running water quality tests as people of our community submit them for analysis using the AM-12 TesTab Water Investigation Kit. We will map the data and report to the community the patterns observed.
The funding be used for LaMotte Water Investigation kits for water sampling analysis of chromium, pH, copper, phosphate, dissolved oxygen, ammonia, hardness, chloride, iron, and nitrates.
We will also use LaMotte Test Kits to analyze for lead and pesticides too.
The scholars will have REAL data to analyze, map, and report to the community which serves both. It helps the community by making them aware of water trends and it also helps the scholars have real data to utilize.
