Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Did you look forward to art or music time when you were in school? Wasn't it exciting? Didn't it enhance your learning too? You can help bring art, dance, drama and excitement to our classroom.
Our school is in a high poverty, high crime area of our city.
The majority of our students are second language learners who come to school eager to learn and would love to have more of the arts curriculum in their classroom. All of our students receive free breakfast and lunch. Budget cuts have left very little room for art supplies.
My Project
We need need paint, wiggle eyes, glue sticks awards and a jumbo animals set to enhance the art standards and curriculum in our classroom. Singing and dancing while tapping the rhythm sticks, gluing wiggly eyes to a paint project, dramatic play with animals, or retelling nursery rhymes on a flannel board are just some of the activities your donation will provide. Topping off such creative activities are awards ceremonies complete with colorful awards and applause.
These activities support the art standards in music, drama, and art, plus, English Language Development standards. In addition, the materials can be used to create many activities to enhance the math, language arts, science, and social studies standards. Learning through creative activities is not only fun, it's memorable.
Too often the arts are cut from the school day, but research shows how they help develop creative, innovative minds and enhance learning.
In addition, most art supplies are consumable; needing to be replaced often. Our limited budget can not keep up with the need for these requested materials. Support is needed. You can play a leading role in "The Arts for Everyone!" by making a donation. You will be a star in our classroom!
