Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our school is located in southwest Detroit. My students come to school eager and ready to learn. A majority of my students are English Language Learners (ELL/ESL). Their native language is Spanish, with little English at home. It is necessary to provide them with as many learning opportunities as possible within the classroom.
My students are amazing.
They are unique in their own way and have different learning styles. A variety of learning tools and hands-on activities in my classroom are a must. My goal is to help them achieve all their goals and dreams.
My Project
As a teacher, I strive to teach my students about diversity, multiculturalism, and inclusion. In the classroom, my students loved creating art using markers. I would like to provide the same markers for my students to use both during distance learning and when our school reopens. They would absolutely love to have their own set of their favorite markers to use for art projects that represent themselves and the people around them. I teach at a very diverse school where a majority of the students are children of color.
By providing my students with art supplies, they will be able to create artwork that reflects themselves.
I would love for them to create artwork that celebrates the beauty and diversity of our world. I know it would mean the world for my students to have their very own set of art supplies at home! Thank you for supporting my project!
