My students are middle schoolers who attend a struggling, North Carolina public school. My art classroom serves approximately three hundred intelligent, hardworking kids each year.
They are generous and kind people who dive into life with such genuine fun - the best, most deserving bunch of loons.
The students and I are fulfilling our dreams together; each opposing side of realization.
My students are racially and economically diverse. They are joyfully making paintings, drawings, clay, glassware, and duct tape hats.
My Project
Painting is a daily activity in my art room and with my after school wall mural painting club. Working in groups with student produced content, my learners are currently finishing four large wall mural sized paintings in different areas throughout the school. The increased demand for brushes has drained our supply, and we badly need more to complete our work.
I'm watching my brush supply get worse and worse every day.
I spent an hour after work cleaning what I had. I'm writing a grant at nearly midnight. I need your help.
By donating to my project, you will be providing a poor public school art room the basic necessities we need to keep functioning.
