My Students

Throughout the day my students can be seen sharing a laugh or the newest dance move. They love to sing and act out scenes in front of each other. Luckily they have not required discipline actions so my time is spent concentrating on more positive endeavors. To date, there have not been any bullying issues which is hopefully not surprising. They seem like model students and I am lucky to be their teacher. Most of children have signed up for programs that require they give up some free time to help younger students. I am grateful to have such a wonderful group of children to share my day with.

My Project

During the convention in Atlantic City, I met a wonderful professional educator named Trevor Bryan. He showed me how use art to help children comprehend literature. If I had these Blick's white brushes and studio acrylics, I could enhance my language arts program. My children could create characters and develop their background traits with words and pictures. Part of our standards require children to be creative. Art opens up all possibilities and expands the mind.

I would like to be able to have tools for my students to express their artistic side.

Last year we made paintings for the troops. We had to share a few crummy brushes and the paints were dried out. I love art and would like to share my skills with them too. Having the brushes and paint available would encourage and foster creativity.
