I am lucky enough to teach the most amazing Transitional Kindergarten students at the most amazing school ever! Our school is multi-cultural and serves a vast array of children. We are a transitional kindergarten classroom in California so most of my students have just recently turned 5 years-old and are completing the first of a 2-year kindergarten program.
Our school focuses on the whole child and envelops multi-sensory, developmentally appropriate academic experience for all learners!
We strive for a balanced approach to learning and want to ensure that all children are able to meet state standards in a comfortable and modern classroom environment.
Instead of using tons of boring worksheets to work on matching letters, I would love to have my students use these magnetic puzzles from Lakeshore. During small group instructional time, students will use the magnetic wand to drag the lowercase letters to the matching capital letters. These magnetic puzzles will reinforce pre-reading skills, as well as help, develop much needed fine motor skills. Students will be engaged in important, developmentally appropriate work that will lay a foundation for reading. These mazes will be effective in teaching important skills and will be a staple in our classroom for many years to come!
