This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I have an energetic group of sixth, seventh and eighth graders who are eager to obtain new information. With these crazy times of distance teaching and learning I am looking to provide my kiddos with some materials that they can use with minimal paper requirements.
With my kids' desire to obtain knowledge being so strong, it seems such a disservice to them to not provide them with materials that are going to push them to gain more knowledge.
Having relevant and digital ELA materials is essential to their current and future success.
My Project
There are many distance learning novel studies that have been made available through Teacher Pay Teachers. With the urgency of COVID-19 limiting the ability for teachers to go back into the physical buildings where all of their supplies and lessons are we are required to start from scratch.
That is not always easy or even possible with the limited amount of time that we have left in the school year.
Access to lessons already designed to be implemented remotely gives me the opportunity to align curriculum to lessons that can be completed through Google Classroom. Understanding that not all students have equitable access to technology makes these lessons even better because they can be printed and mailed directly to their homes.
My home technology does not allow for me to provide seamless instructions to students, which is why the request for technology has been made. It would greatly improve my ability to interact with all students through educational platforms such as Google Classroom, and personally through FaceTime and text messaging.
Any and all of the help you could provide would be greatly appreciated and utalized.
