My Students

My students are bright and full of energy. They have a variety of ethnic backgrounds, interests and academic goals. Many of my students share residence with other family members. They live in the inner city, have community pride and love to learn.

My students are ecstatic about learning, they love math, science and enjoy reading!

Our school has extended school hours with a dismissal time of 4:05. My students love school and it shows with our 98% attendance rate. Our school is a high poverty Title I school where 100% of our students receive free or reduced priced lunch. My students work hard every day. They support each other strengthening our community pride.

My Project

My first graders are learning to read. They are learning sounds, grammar, and how to write sentences.

The fascinating art of paper engineering will motivate my students to enjoy reading and writing.

A stands for applying the skills they are learning into making their own books. B stands for binding. My students need chip boards, glue, card stock and a thermal binding machine to help with the production of their books. C is for creativity. Ink is also needed to bring their drawings to life.
