THE A-GAME (Attendance & Grades Amplify My Excellence)
Help me give my students rewards to be raffled at the end of the school year to promote finishing the semester strong with outstanding attendance, behavior, and grades!
This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Students
I am the school social worker of a Title I elementary school consisting of grades K-5. Our students come from diverse and challenging backgrounds.
Many of our students face barriers such as poverty, transportation issues, and/or lack of resources making it difficult to focus at school, display positive behavior, or come to school regularly.
However, despite these obstacles, our students work hard to meet their academic goals and our staff continuously strive to motivate, support and encourage them to do their best.
My Project
The goal of this project is to receive items that will be used as incentives for attendance, grades, and behavior. Our school re-opened in 2018 after being closed for 7 years. At this time we do not have many community partners and our PTA is limited as well, which is why I am seeking the support of generous donors. The things I am asking to be donated are items many of our student's families are not financially able to purchase themselves. The items will be prizes of a raffle at the end of our school semester. As items are donated they will be shown across the morning announcements, included in classroom newsletters and mentioned in our weekly communication call to parents. The rewards are to motivate our students to finish the semester strong with an increase in positive behavior and less discipline referrals, academic progress and improvement in school attendance. Please partner with us as we try to make this the most memorable school year yet!
