Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are sweet and hard working. They come to school ready to learn, grow, and discover. They each come to me with a unique set of needs. I aim to challenge each one so they can each make a year's worth or more of growth while in my care.
Most of my students do not get the movement opportunities they need to live a healthy lifestyle.
I have them engage in hard work all day long. I would love for them to have a comfy seat that provides them with a little wiggle movement to help them do the hard work.
I am constantly on the look for different options that create a cozy and comfortable environment that kids want to come to and learn.
My Project
Kids love to have voice and choice. Just as I choose a special place in my home to work or settle in with a good book, I want my students to have the choice to be comfy while they work.
I like to read in my big comfy chair, and I have chosen a bean bag chair for students to snuggle up with a great book.
However, when I am writing or working on bills, I like to sit on a cushioned chair at a table. Our school provides hard gray chairs for students, but I have chosen the soft barrel seats for kids to have a soft place to sit.
This project will help me create an environment that is welcoming and provides students with choice.
