My Students

My students are kind, responsible and have a passion for learning. They have hearts of service and are eager to pull together to complete tasks. In our classroom, we have a family culture and care about each other. My students are friends with each other and want to be together.

These students are excited to come to school.

We work hard to create an atmosphere where learning is fun and engaging. I have overheard students say to one another, "yes! It's book club time!" or "I love doing math!". As a teacher, these comments are the most rewarding. Hearing those candid moments of loving school.

My Project

The 21st Century classroom is not the type of classroom it used to be. Classrooms are evolving and changing into work spaces children want and need! Flexible seating allows student movement at their seats, which increases oxygen flow to the brain, blood flow and core strength. In turn, this burns more calories and increases metabolism. It also helps student minds stay more alert and focused. Flexible seating encourages many 21st century skills, including problem solving, curiosity, teamwork, collaboration, cooperation and self-discipline.

Flexible seating gives students choice, which teaches them higher-order thinking.

The tables I am requesting will allow my classroom to provide the workspace for students to be engaged, comfortable and allow for academic success! Flexible seating encourages students to take turns and share space. Flexible seating allows students to quickly and easily pair up, work in small groups, or discuss as a whole class.
