Our early childhood school is now in its eleventh year serving the community. In our Pre-K class, that means over 180 students have come and gone from this classroom. Along with that, many other students have called our room home for enrichment classes, after-school programs, and summer camp.
Families send their precious children to our class every day, for us to help them take those first steps towards accomplishing great feats.
Children make this room their home for however long they stay and miss it dearly when they move on. It's something we take pride in, and we hope to continue doing what we love to do and that nurtures their love of learning.
I've been teaching at my first and current school for seven years. No matter who enters through that door, they are part of our school family. I hope to provide them with the absolute best education we can offer.
My Project
It's that time of the year again. It's the time where we hope to close the year out strong and memorable as well as prepare for the next. It's been an amazing year with amazing kids and I hope to give them the gift of literacy. A collection of books in one of their favorite series, Elephant and Piggie.
For most, it may be their very first book at home.
I truly believe children who read grow up to be thinkers. Every child may have their own preferred genre. Those who may seem like they do not like books just haven't found the right book for them yet.
Many of my students don't have the opportunity to visit the public library very often. Having books available, in their homes will help develop and foster their love for reading. I am requesting two class sets of Elephant and Piggie Biggie for our current kids as a parting gift and for our future kids as a way to show them we care about fostering their love for books.
Also requested are new undefined learning materials for our new group of students to engage in endless play scenarios and help them fall in love with our class as our previous group has.
As we close out our year, it's time to say "Thank You, Next."
