Celebrate Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month

This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

Our 4th graders have spent the past year working hard to learn all things Texas history and science! We want to continue that education and fun through a virtual field trip to some special places in our state.

This virtual field trip will provide our scholars with hands-on learning and fun in a way they have never had before!

Our 4th grades have not had a chance at a field trip, virtual or otherwise since they were in 1st grade. Even then, funds limited the options. Our scholars have been working towards being able to participate in an experience of this caliber all year! They have practiced their leadership skills, honed their ability to research, and worked in teams to prepare for this opportunity.

Scholars will have a chance to put into practice what they have learned! The Texas State Capitol tells the story of our state's unique history and with the help of Arlie the Armadillo, we will be able to see this beautiful Texas icon and the chambers where our state's laws are made. This "trip" will allow us to re-create the set-up and practice our leadership skills from the lens of a state official.

Our scholars have studied hard in science to learn the water cycle and all about the resources our state has to offer. They deserve a chance to see firsthand how the water cycle and rocks thave created our wonderful state. They will have a chance to dig through the dirt for some gems and virtually explore Waco Mammoth National Monument, as well as Inner Space Caverns.
