Our students are rambunctious, naturally curious, and constantly on the move. Our students come from a diverse range of backgrounds, and many come from underserved groups that bring with them many needs and experiences with them to school. When they enter school, they need to feel that the space is theirs to own and care for. The space should feel organized, clean, and safe for all kids.
Our students like to think outside the box.
New and engaging projects will give them ideas for their own lives and futures.
My Project
The water testing equipment will allow my class to study the water quality of the drainage ditch near the school. Students will begin studying it this fall and continue to study it throughout the year. Next year the City of Madison will be converting the the drainage ditch into a retainment pond. We will continue to gather data through this process to determine how the retainment pond affects local water quality and habitats.
This STEM project will allow students to learn how to work together, collect data, follow directions, and think critically.
Data collected will be analyzed and compared to data collected by other schools. Our analysis will be returned to engineers in the city.
