Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The students in our school are culturally diverse. More than half of them come from low-income families. Many are recent immigrants, and together they speak over 20 different languages. In addition, they all have different learning abilities and learning styles.
Our students are energetic, curious, enthusiastic about learning and participating in new experiences as well as enjoy showcasing their work.
My Project
We are in dire need of a good outdoor wireless sound system. Our graduation/ stepping up ceremonies last year did not have good quality sound. The special guests could not be heard and the students singing as well as the beautiful speeches they wrote were lost in the sounds of the wind whooshing and the elevated train passing. We have a beautiful school yard and enjoy celebrating our students accomplishments. We don't want to disappoint the parents, students and special guests this year. Due to COVID precautions, we need to have our school celebrations outdoors this school year. Having the ideal acoustics is very important.
Sounds should be loud and clear enough for the audience to hear, including those sitting at the very back of the school yard to help enhance the sound and quality of the children who are being celebrated.
Without a good sound system, all the hard effort our students and teachers put into our celebrations will be lost in the wind!
