My Students

The more excited you are about a task, the more likely you will complete it and do well with it! That is why I want my students to be excited to access the Internet with this laptop computer.

We live in a high poverty area with more than 67% of my students receiving free or reduced meals at school.

Their parents are proud and hardworking, but in this difficult economic time, many are unable to provide technology access at home. The students I work with are already identified as being behind on skills in reading and / or math. Five assistants and I work in small groups to bridge that gap for our students.

My Project

Having this computer will allow my students greater access to the Internet and the programs that are available for skills practice. My students get very excited when they get to use the small laptops, but have to wait a long time for turns. Having this will allow more students time to practice each day. We will also use it for researching topics of interest such as environmental issues, current events, and others.

We will use this computer to complete required skills practice as well as researching topics of interest.
