I am a teacher at a Title I school in a very rural community. Many of my students are faced with challenges outside of the classroom. Some of my students have no educational opportunities outside of school. Also, in 2016, our community was terrorized by a major flood. Many of these students lost their homes as well as everything they had. Some of these students are still feeling the impact of this flood by living in unfinished homes. I love that my students are still excited about learning despite it all.
My students may face many challenges but they deserve a fun, exciting and positive learning experience.
My Project
Unfortunately, our school limits the amount of black and white prints that we get each month. Printing in color is only an option if I provide my own printer and toner. Of course, this becomes very expensive. However, I continue to provide this for my students because they engage better with colorful materials.
Colorful, hands-on learning is a must in Second Grade.
This toner will allow us to print colorful and exciting ELA and Math learning games, handouts, anchor charts and posters. Students will also be able to print out the work they do online and at home in color instead of just black and white.
