I have the privilege of teaching 22 creative, technology-savvy fourth graders at a Title I school in Missoula, Montana.
My students are OBSESSED with technology.
They love to research and explore all of the amazing things technology can help us do. Throughout the school year, we work on various projects within Google Classroom. We create presentations, infographics, and do a lot of writing. Naturally, many of our projects involve a lot of typing. We are learning to type, but I would love to provide my students with the option to use the speech-to-text feature within the Google Suite.
Over the past few years, I have worked to find ways to incorporate more technology into my instruction. We are fortunate to have devices available to us, and we use technology frequently in the classroom.
My Project
The headphones with microphones will allow students to utilize the speech-to-text feature within the Google Suite. The multi-headphone splitters will allow students to collaborate in many different ways. We often listen to audio books and watch videos in partners or small groups.
These technology tools will help make technology more accessible for my students, and allow my students to collaborate.
Many of my students are not able to purchase headphones. Having ten extra sets in the classroom will cover the students who don't bring their own.
Ultimately, these technology tools will allow me to incorporate more technology into my lessons. My students will no longer be hindered by their typing speed!
