I teach in a public Title 1 school. I am a part of our Autism program, which means all of my students have unique needs and abilities. I have 6 wonderful children in my classroom that all love to play and learn!
Insightful, loving, energetic; my students take on every new challenge and grow every day together.
We enjoy practicing life skills such as cooking, laundry, cleaning, and self care. Our favorite time of the day is when we get to dance!
A year in our room is like no other, and our time spent together builds skills that will last a lifetime. In our room, everyone can learn a little something about just how awesome life can be.
Ball chairs are great for helping my students focus while getting their sensory needs met at the same time. They can bounce and wiggle while they work. An iPad is full of educational and motivational games and videos to help my students grow and learn. And a label maker helps their teacher stay organized enough to make sure they have all the materials they need!
With these materials, my students will be able to meet their sensory needs and stay focused on growing their brains.
It is a delicate balancing act when it comes to meeting the sensory needs of my students and allowing time for growth in academics. With these materials, both are possible at the same time!
