My Students
My students are active and inquisitive students in a rural community. They love to move around and learn in many different styles and settings.
My students like to be together collaborating and investigating.
They attend a small school, which allows them to be very comfortable with each other and their surroundings.
My students have become successful learners this year and work hard to meet our second grade goals. They know we are invested in their learning and they understand the importance of what we are working on. They need to continue to learn how to work as a team or with a group.
My Project
My current classroom has desks for each individual student. They are not optimal for times when we are collaboratively working together. They become messy and hold many things that kids can become distracted with.
Tables will allow my students to work collaboratively with each other to learn, share materials, and develop a since of teamwork and community.
The tables will allow the students to collaborate during literacy, writing, science, and math activities. They need to learn to work together collaboratively and share their thoughts and ideas. It's ok to help each other and show each other how to do things.
Each table will have their must need materials in the center of the table. Student's will have a space on a shelf in the classroom to store their things they don't need daily.
