My students need a tenor recorder to help us identify the leader, as well as six soprano recorders and a bottle of germicide spray to clean the recorders after student use.

This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students love playing their recorders. They are in my room bright and early at 7:20, 40 minutes before school begins. We have a problem though, the students can't hear when I'm playing or when one of their peers is making a mistake.

We are a Title 1 school located in south Florida.

My students are energetic and love learning. Many who do not excel in reading or math do excel in music. I want them to have the opportunity to learn and grow in music where they do have talent. I love watching their smiles as they achieve their next song.

My Project

A tenor recorder will enable my students to hear their part better. The tenor recorder with it's lower tone stands out among all the soprano recorders they play. It allows the students to know when they should and should not play. It will also be part of our recorder consort as we already have other recorders in the family. I am also requesting six soprano recorders to supplement our current collection, as well as germicide spray to clean the recorders after student use.
