Our school is located in a rural Texas community. The high school marching band consists of students in grades 9-12. They enjoy performing exciting shows for their school and their community. They take pride in their accomplishments while looking forward to presenting challenging and entertaining performances this upcoming season.
Band instills creativity, musicianship, and unity for our students.
Growing stronger each day, they instill their work ethic by practicing their music and learning to perform on their instrument, developing fluency for reading musical notation, as well as mentorship and camaraderie among students.
My Project
Our jazz school band program is growing leaps and bounds and performing at concerts, competitions, and festivals. The jazz literature being performed calls for a variety of musical instruments as well as timbres within each section.
Our jazz tenor saxophonist needs a metal mouthpiece.
A metal mouthpiece will give the student many advantages over the traditional saxophone mouthpiece. My students will be able to project their solos into the audience so that the melodies and solos will be heard even in the balconies. The metal mouthpiece will also give my students the flexibility they need to create amazing jazz style lines with bends.
