My Students

My tennis players range in ages from 13 to 18. Most of my students have not had a chance to play on a team sport before they find tennis. So, they usually enter the program as complete beginners.

These kids are extremely talented in many things but sometimes lack the confidence to do them; tennis teaches the life lessons they need to succeed and overcome their insecurities.

I have had several players that were so shy that they would not make eye contact with anyone on or off the tennis court. But since there are no umpires in tennis, they have had to keep score and call their own line calls. This teaches them to be honest and confident, and it forces them to settle disputes. Seeing them grow throughout the year makes teaching and coaching them a true joy!

My Project

These tennis benches will help my players by giving them somewhere to sit in between games and at tennis practice. We compete with other sports in our small community and have a hard time raising money for the equipment we need. Most of the money we raise pays for tennis balls and court fees for tournaments and sectionals.

Your support will help my tennis players reach their goals on the courts.

The confidence that they get from the tennis courts will help them reach thier goals in the classroom and in life. It is proven that students who succeed in extracurricular activities achieve more in and out of the classroom.
