This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.

My Project

My students have incredible desks that fit their 8th grade size, are whiteboard surfaced, include a storage cubby for their notebooks, and desks that slide in and out. They're also well designed for a big variety of configurations. Since my students move frequently and we want to try more configurations, our desks and chairs move a lot. This creates excessive noise and skid marks on our tile floors. We would have more flexibility and noise control with tennis balls on the bottom of each chair and desk leg.

Our goal is to have a tennis ball on each chair and desk leg in the classroom to ease the noise level and stop marking up the tile floors.

This will create a smoother environment and more flexible set-up for re-arranging desks. This will also make the janitors happy so they don't have marks all over our classroom floor!

My students are special because they work incredibly hard, have grown immensely, and are building confidence using the tools provided for them and seeing results.
