My Students

My students come from diverse backgrounds. Many of them speak English as a second language. 100% of my students receive a free breakfast and lunch daily. Regardless of the challenges they face in their home lives, they come to school eager to learn every day!

Teaching second grade is very rewarding.

At this age, students are still learning to read. My job is to give them the reading skills necessary to be successful in school and in life. I hope to instill in them the joy of learning, kindness, and curiosity.

My Project

This summer I will attend a 5 day intensive Spanish Immersion Program to develop my Spanish speaking skills. I'm so excited that I am going to be able to further develop my Spanish speaking skills! I know this is going to have a huge impact on my classroom teaching, as well as my relationship with my students' parents!

I will be staying in student residences while I attend this immersion program.

Meals are not included. I'm hoping to find some cost-effective ways to stay nourished and hydrated while I'm there. I plan on purchasing fresh fruit and veggies to eat during my meals. Without a kitchen or refrigerator, I will be limited with my options.
