My students from last year enjoyed compiling projects from copies made. It was nice to see students think outside the box when given an assignment. Several of them would put their personal spin on assignments.
I was able to see creativity that I had not considered.
I also saw partner work. It was nice to see students conference with each other when they ran into difficulties. Frustrated students were encouraged by their table partner or shoulder partner to try to complete the assignment as best they could. Cooperative groups were unknowing formed by them and working well.
My Project
Many students are visual and have the need to improve their motor skills in the first grade. With the use of the HP 6968 series copier, reproducing materials in the classroom is effortless. Children enjoy cutting, coloring, and pasting to create projects. This also helps children who have difficulty writing answers; now they have another way to demonstrate what they know or have learned. Fun worksheets can give me an idea of any gaps or misunderstandings in learning. I would use projects as a chance to conference with students about their work. They can tell me if they understood what was expected or not. Hand outs are used as a final observation by me assess where the class is in their understanding. I can determine if I need to reteach and what to reteach.
