We are a full-day, Public School with over 150 three, four, and five year-old students.
Our 17 students are enthusiastic and energetic young learners.
They bring to our classroom many varied experiences from the community. We embrace both our regular and ex-ed children in our classroom. We are in a small Head Start school within an economically and culturally diverse neighborhood.
Experience and research show that the more time a child spends engaged in hands-on activities, the more successful that child is in expressing themselves. In other words, the more interesting the materials we have available to students, the more time they will spend using them. This time will lay a solid foundation for future success.
The puppets and books purchased will allow students the opportunity to express themselves through the use of puppets.
Each of these stories will be covered for one week and the materials then added to our Work Time activities for the remainder of the school year. Not only will students be able to retell the traditional stories, they may also create alternate endings or come up with a whole new story.
