My pre-kindergarten students are full of energy when they come in to start their day of learning. They are rambunctious at times and ready to get started. We start our day with me serving them breakfast, and then we share in the clean-up. My students look forward to our morning activities which begin with me reading them a story. After storytime, they have an opportunity to play and learn in various centers, including dramatic play, library, sandbox, and water station.
My young students are from 3 to 5 years of age and live in one of the "most dangerous" cities in the U.S.
It is labeled as having one of the highest poverty rates as well. Yet, these smiling faces come to school each day ready to learn and play!
All of my students are writing at their various levels. I have students who draw pictures, some string letters together, and some are writing short sentences. These young writers are amazing! These Expo dry-erase markers make it fun for children to write. They can quickly and easily erase any mistakes they might make. In addition, it allows me to model the proper techniques for forming letters quickly and easily with our mobile whiteboards. Writing takes place every day in our classroom, and it occurs in every nook and cranny. I always tell my students that whatever they imagine they can write. Be creative in your thoughts and let's write it down to share with others. Let's write the "write" way!
